The Harding men’s and women’s basketball teams each have only one more game to play before beginning the inaugural Great American Conference Tournament in Bartlesville, Okla., which will take place from March 1 to 4. Both the Bisons and the Lady Bisons hold a winning record for the season.

Spring tennis season in full swing

Harding University’s men’s and women’s tennis teams are back in action this month for the Spring 2012 portion of their seasons, after playing only a handful of matches in Fall 2011. The women’s team began play on Feb. 3 with a 3-6 loss to Northeastern State University, and the men’s team began on Feb. 7 with a 9-0 victory over Hendrix College. The Bisons are currently 7-0 for the season, while the Lady Bisons are 5-2.

HU Apocalypse gets third in first spring tourney

The Harding University Apocalypse Ultimate Frisbee team competed in its first tournament of the Spring 2012 semester in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Jan. 28-29, tying for third overall out of 23 teams. HU Apocalypse defeated teams such as Auburn University, the University of Alabama and Oklahoma State University before it lost to Ohio State University in the semi-finals. Next weekend, the team will travel to Denton, Texas, to compete in a tournament to be held at the University of North Texas.
